I’m welcomed into the immaculately tidy house amid sounds of children laughing and playing Brian’s longtime housekeeper, Gloria, is tidying up an array of scattered toys and my ears resound with the loud and incessant barking of Wilson’s many dogs. Wilson’s home, located atop Mulholland Drive in one of southern California’s most exclusive locales, is a large and spacious residence, resplendent in the gleaming sunlight of a late afternoon. ![]() ![]() The topic of our discussion on this picture perfect day is What I Really Want For Christmas, a new record crafted by Wilson with members of power-pop practitioners, The Wondermints, and long-time guitarist/vocalist Jeff Foskett. As I reach the top of the mountain, which offers a spectacular view of the city below, I pull my car into a gated community for an interview with Beach Boys visionary, Brian Wilson. The sun is shining, and there’s not a cloud (or snow flake) in the clear, blue sky. ![]() High in the Hollywood Hills, it’s a typically beautiful day in southern California.
